The Nam

I managed to deny myself a tournament double by blowing a 4/1 chip lead heads-up at the Pigeons last night to Steve V.02 in a game which to be fair, even for the Pigeons was unpredictable.

It was all going so well too when I busted three dudes in one hand by cunningly being dealt aces and having them stand up against Paul's 9-9, (did we not decide a while ago Paul at the Isle Casino that 9's were dangerous?) mateyboy 1's pocket Queens and Ace-King suited for a second mateyboy.

Ironically I played too fast at the heads-up stage, which I thought was a contributing factor to my win on Sarruday. Also, I'm no good at heads-up not having had that much practice and all so ultimately it wasn't to be and ones attention now turns to the Nam where hopefully I won't experience soul destroying loss after soul destroying loss that has characterised the previous two meetings.

So then..my selections for Toosday are going to be;

Captain Cee Bee - Supreme Novices - 10.5

Clopf - Arkle - 10.0

An Accordian - Billy Hill Chase - 5.8

Osana - Champion Hurdle - 7.8

It's important to emphasise these selections are not tips and following them may result in tears. Cheltenham is a cruel mistress and I wouldn't want to Pied Piper of Hamlin you all into financial ruin. It's also pissing down at the moment and this may influence tomorrow's proceedings.

In other news, it became clear earlier this morning that I need a hair cut, so I'm going to take care of that now and have a nice chat with my hairdresser about whether or not I've got a day off and my interest in the Cheltenham flower show.
